Lansons Internship Programme 2026

Start your career in communications, public affairs and reputation management

The Lansons Internship Programme is a three-month paid internship designed to give aspiring communications professionals hands-on experience in strategic communications, corporate affairs, public relations, public affairs and reputation management.

Whether you're a student, graduate, career changer or simply exploring a future in communications, the programme offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced consultants, contribute to real client work and develop the skills needed for a successful career in the industry.

Over three months, you'll gain practical experience, structured training and ongoing support while working at one of the UK's leading communications and reputation management consultancies. This programme is intended for individuals seeking to start a career in communications. It is aimed at those with little or no professional experience in the sector and focuses on developing foundational skills.

  • Location: Hybrid, with interns expected to work from our London office
    (24A St John St, Barbican, London EC1M 4AY) every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as additional days as and when required.

What you'll do

Interns will have the opportunity to experience different aspects of agency life while developing practical skills that can be applied throughout your career.

Including:

  • Supporting client account teams across a range of sectors and specialisms
  • Monitoring media coverage, political developments and current affairs
  • Conducting research and stakeholder mapping
  • Preparing briefing materials, presentations and reports
  • Drafting content and communications materials
  • Supporting social media and digital communications activity
  • Supporting public affairs and stakeholder engagement activity
  • Assisting with new business and marketing projects
  • Attending internal meetings, training sessions and team events
  • Learning how strategic communications programmes are developed and delivered
Training, development and support

The programme combines hands-on experience with structured training to help you build practical communications skills. You’ll learn through a mix of live client work, team collaboration, feedback, mentoring and dedicated training sessions.

During the internship, training and development may cover:

  • Media relations
  • Writing and storytelling
  • Corporate and financial services communications
  • Public affairs and policy
  • Digital and social media
  • Campaigns
  • Research and insight
  • Professional and client skills
  • Artificial intelligence and communications

You’ll also receive regular feedback and development support throughout the programme, helping you understand your strengths, build confidence and identify areas for future growth.

Our recruitment process is designed to identify potential, judgement, communication skills and curiosity.



Stage 1: Application

Applicants will submit:

  • CV
  • Short application in written (200 words per question maximum) or video (90 seconds maximum per question) format in response to the following questions:
    • Why are you interested in the Lansons Internship Programme and a career in communications?
    • Tell us about a recent news story, campaign or issue that you found interesting. What happened and why did it matter?
    • What skill, quality or experience would you bring to the Lansons team, and why? Please give an example.
  • Please confirm when you apply:
    • You are available for the key dates in the recruitment process (outlined below).
    • You are available to work for the duration of the internship programme (outlined below).
    • You have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.

Stage 2: Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 30-minute interview with members of the Lansons team.

Stage 3: Final assessment

Final-stage candidates will be invited to take part in a half-day in-person assessment at our London office in Farringdon. Further details will be shared with candidates who progress to this stage.

Frequently asked questions

Is the internship paid?

Yes. All interns will be paid the London Living Wage.

What if I can't attend one of the recruitment stages?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer alternative dates for interviews or assessment activities. Please ensure you are available for all stages of the recruitment process before applying.

What if I’m not available for the whole duration of the internship?

You will need to be available to work from Monday 7 September 2026 for 3 months to take part in our internship programme.

Who can apply?

Do I need a degree to apply?

Does the internship lead to a permanent role?

The programme is designed to provide a pathway into future communications careers. While we cannot guarantee permanent roles, interns may be considered for suitable opportunities at Lansons in the future.

Will I work on real client projects?

Yes. Interns will support client teams and contribute to a variety of projects throughout the programme.

What are the working hours?

The internship is a full-time position. Our standard working hours are 9am – 5.30pm.

What support will I receive during the internship?

Each intern will be assigned a ‘buddy’ and a manager to support them. You'll also receive structured onboarding, training and regular feedback throughout the programme.
