Claer Barrett is an award-winning journalist and broadcaster who aims to help everyone make the most of their money. An associate editor at the Financial Times, she writes the Serious Money column in FT Weekend newspaper and presents the FT's Money Clinic podcast, talking to listeners about their real-life financial dilemmas. A consumer and personal finance journalist for nearly 20 years, Claer's frank, no-frills approach to talking about money ensures she is a regular guest on TV and radio, including ITV's Lorraine, finance phone-ins on LBC and guest spots on BBC programmes including Watchdog, Rip Off Britain and You & Yours. Her short videos about money on social media @Claerb have won her an army of fans on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok and she now makes content for the main Financial Times channel. Her first book, What They Don't Teach You About Money, was an Amazon top 10 bestseller and the follow up will be published in early 2027.
