We're looking for a senior account executive to support out expanding client portfolio, working with leading names in financial services, including asset and wealth management, as well as fintechs and professional associations.


The opportunity

As an integral member of various account teams, the Senior Account Executive will have the opportunity to make an impact for global clients, work across disciplines to expand their consultancy skills, and accelerate their career in integrated communications.

With deep roots in the financial services sector, Lansons serves clients including asset and wealth management, alternative investment, and financial technology firms, as well as B2B corporates. As an integrated communications consultancy we advise clients on multi-channel programs including media relations, thought leadership, content development, issues and crisis management, and social media.

The Role

The senior account executive plays a critical role ensuring program success. They manage both up and down, working closely with senior staff to determine strategic direction while leading and supporting junior staff to oversee effective execution. They serve as a central point of contact for the client with support from the team and take a leadership role ensuring successful delivery of all elements of the program scope.

Senior account executives demonstrate an understanding of relevant subject matter and proactively identify client opportunities, sharing relevant media or profile building opportunities and supporting them with drafting materials. They maintain a curious approach to learning and personal development, seeking opportunities to develop their skills and soliciting feedback to enhance their performance and expertise.

They build trust with clients and confidence with team members in their ability to take and deliver against a brief, and own day-to-day activity. Senior account executives are comfortable advising clients and requesting senior support or counsel when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Account management: Establish and maintain relationships with clients and media, participate in client calls sharing new and relevant ideas, delegate project elements amongst team members, and oversee the completion of high-quality, client-ready deliverables.
  • Strategy and execution: Share in the development of an integrated communications strategy with senior team members and drive and secure measurable results through strong execution.
  • Managing and mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship, setting an example for junior team members and sharing the responsibility for their skillset development and career advancement.
  • Media relations: Build relationships with journalists, engage external stakeholders, and creatively identify coverage opportunities for clients. Process complex issues and actively translate current affairs and themes into relevant story angles for clients.
  • Content creation: Write and review concise, on-message external and internal content for clients, including press releases, bylines, briefing documents, newsletters, blogs, and social media posts, identifying when to strategically used owned channels.
  • New business: Support new business development activities, contributing to written proposals and presentations, and participating in pitch presentations.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial markets and industry; appetite to deepen understanding of complex subject matter
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant PR / strategic communications experience in an agency environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to independently manage client relationships and communicate effectively with senior and junior team members
  • Results-driven with a collaborative, resourceful approach to problem solving and ownership mentality
  • Organized and detail-oriented project manager with proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and client initiatives to deadline
  • Passion for current affairs, news, and the media industry
  • Strong presentation, writing, and editing skills
  • Team player, supportive and considerate to others
  • Uses AI consistently and effectively to improve productivity and outputs within agreed guidelines (e.g. conducting desk research; developing/testing ideas; copyediting; etc)
  • Working knowledge of PR tools, including Business Wire, Cision, Constant Contact, Factiva


The proposed base salary for this position: ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 and is dependent on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
