Lansons is a founding partner of the BBC 50:50 Project and features in the report which was officially launched at New Broadcasting House by BBC News presenter Naga Munchetty, Tuesday 26 April 2022.
The Project first began in 2017 with one news programme making a commitment to increasing the number of women it featured as contributors. It quickly gained momentum as a grassroots movement across the BBC, and more than 500 BBC programme teams, including News night and Question Time, are now signed up to monitor and take steps towards 50:50 representation of women and men contributors.
Fast forward to 2022, and the project has been adopted by many external organisations across 30 countries (such as Lansons) and the methodology extended beyond gender to include disability and ethnicity monitoring.
