About Claire Reynolds
Claire Reynolds is External Affairs Director at the Labour Party where she leads on the Party’s engagement with business, unions, think tanks, campaign groups, and civil society.
Prior to this she served as Keir Starmer’s Political Director in 10 Downing Street, where she was responsible for managing relations between the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Labour Party and the wider political landscape.
Claire has extensive experience in government and party politics, having previously worked in Downing Street under both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, giving her first-hand insight into the inner workings of three Labour administrations.
Before returning to No.10, Claire served as Director of the Labour Women’s Network, where she played a leading role in mentoring and supporting hundreds of women for roles across all levels of government, helping many to step into public life for the first time.
Earlier in her career, Claire was a local councillor in Tameside, a Labour Party adviser, and an advisor at Business in the Community. Her breadth of experience spanning the party, Parliament and Downing Street, brings a unique perspective on how political decisions are made at the centre of government and how organisations can effectively engage with No.10 and the wider Westminster system.
