David Wheldon’s roster includes some of the UK’s biggest brands, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer at Royal Bank of Scotland and before that, Head of Brand for Barclays. He was also Global Director of Brand at Vodafone and Global Director of Advertising for Coca-Cola.
David now advises Lansons' clients on global marketing leadership and reputation alongside his role as President Emeritus of World Federation of Advertisers.
David’s extensive career began in the early 1980s, agency-side at Saatchi & Saatchi. He then held senior roles at a handful of creative agencies before making the move in-house, where he was then appointed Vice President and Global Director of Advertising at one of the world’s most iconic brands, Coca-Cola.
In 2015, David was appointed CMO at RBS where he led the efforts to revive the brand following its near collapse during the financial crash.
David now holds advisory roles at a number of companies including Teenage Cancer Trust, Pablo and Donmar Warehouse. David is also President Emeritus of World Federation of Advertisers.
In recognition for his lengthy service and contribution to the marketing and advertising industry, David was awarded an OBE in 2021.
